The shell of this PipeHugger has been machined from a solid billet to cope with high pressures - up to 30,000psi (2000 bar) depending on the variant. The machining involved makes this type of PipeHugger significantly more expensive than it's lower pressure welded construction counterpart. The membrane, which can be made of any of 28 different elastomer compounds, is held in place by a simple tamper-proof segmental lock ring, making the unit fully reservicable.
